Virginia Residential Building Contractor (RBC) Practice Test

Signs warning about falling materials must be posted at the top and bottom of each level to ensure comprehensive safety awareness throughout the construction site. This practice helps to effectively communicate potential hazards to workers and visitors at critical points where they might be exposed to falling objects. By placing signs at both the top and bottom, individuals are alerted whether they are ascending to a work zone or descending from it, reinforcing their awareness and helping to mitigate accidents.

Positioning warnings only at the entrance, base, or in the office would limit communication and could lead to increased risks, as individuals may not receive the necessary warnings when they are most pertinent. It is essential in construction settings to maintain a high level of visibility and accessibility for safety information, making the top and bottom of each level the most strategic locations for such warnings.
